Long before the backpacks, this place already had a story. Built in 1888, the castle was originally conceived for a coffee baron. Its white façade, tall windows, stained glass and turret give it a unique, timeless character.
Today, the grand rooms welcome new stories: a first solo trip, a friendship over breakfast, a route that changes because you want to stay. The walls kept their elegance; the house found a new way to live.
In January 2026, the Casa opened and the family grew. On one side, the historic castle and garden. On the other, colourful spaces, dorms and more private rooms with bathrooms. Two buildings, the same joy of coming together.
You come for the setting. You stay connected to the people.

Can we enjoy the garden and pool?
Yes. A huge pool, sun loungers and a tropical garden are part of life at the Castelo. A little forest connects the castle to Casa: share a moment or find a quiet corner at your own pace.
Is there a rooftop at the castle?
A rooftop with extraordinary views over Rio is hidden at the top of the Castelo. Ask the team to show you this secret spot when you arrive.
What activities can we share on site?
Ping-pong, pool, futmesa, art workshops, yoga and language exchanges: so many ways to meet. The current programme is shared in the WhatsApp group open to all guests.
When are the bars open?
The Castelo bar opens from 8 pm to midnight. The Casa bar welcomes you from 10 pm until around 3 am. Cocktails, beers and soft drinks: find your rhythm.
